ABOUT |
OUR HISTORYLangwarrin Football and Netball Club (LFNC) was first formed in 1920 and played in Collingwood colours with the Peninsula District Football ASSN at the Army Reserve (Langwarrin Flora and Fauna Reserve) near the Langwarrin Train Station.
The club had its first premiership in 1930 with a grand final replay vs Frankston forfeited in 1929 due to unavailability of players who had been called to Kooweerup for the Potato Harvest. The team were runners up in he 1928 Grand Final. The Clbu disbanded in 1933 and reformed for the 1956 season of the M.P.F.L 'B' Division. The late Sir Keith Murdoch who was a local and the owner of the Herald and Weekly Times was the President of the club in 1931-1932. |
OUR VISIONOur vision for your club is to have the community embrace and support a successful club both on field and off the field.
To be a club where the children of the community can join at a young age, and develop their physical and social skills in a protected and safe environment. We want to see our parents, grandparents, wife’s and partners support their sons and daughter's enjoying the sport they have chosen. We aim to encourage those other clubs to also enjoy the environment we have created and the culture we have developed – a family club. OUR FUTUREAs a club we enjoy one of the best facilities on the Peninsula, with strategic planning and significant investment from stakeholders such as the Langwarrin Junior Football Club body and the local council, we have created a safe and enjoyable sporting environment, that not only our club but the entire community can utilise.
The Langwarrin Football and Netball Club will work in conjunction with the local community, other sporting clubs at Lloyd Park, along with local, state and federal government to further develop Lloyd Park as a community facility. |
